The short version

A couple sets up a guest book. Their guests leave drawings, notes, photos or voice messages on a tablet. Those entries belong to the couple. We store them so the couple can keep them, and we do nothing else with them — no advertising, no selling, no training anything on your wedding.

If you are a guest at a wedding

You are probably reading this because you just left something in someone's guest book. Here is exactly what was saved: whatever you created — your drawing, message, photo, or recording — along with the name you typed, if you typed one, and the time you finished.

Nothing else. We do not know who you are, we did not read your contacts, and the tablet does not identify you. If you left no name, the entry is anonymous to us.

The couple decides what happens to it. If you would like your entry removed, ask them first — they can delete it themselves in a couple of taps. If you cannot reach them, write to us at the address below and we will help.

What we collect

From couples: the email address used to sign in, a display name, and the details of each event — its name, date, book settings, and cover. Share passwords and tablet exit PINs are stored only as hashes; we cannot read them.

From guests: the entry itself, an optional name, and the moment it was captured. Photos and voice recordings are stored as files; drawings are stored both as an image and as the pen strokes that made it, so the couple can reprint them clearly.

Technical: the name and type of each paired tablet and when it last connected. When a tablet is first paired we record the IP address of that request for up to 24 hours to stop people guessing pairing codes, and then delete it. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies we set keep a couple signed in and remember that you entered the password for a shared book.

Who can see an entry

The couple who own the event, always. Nobody else, unless they choose to publish a share link — that is off by default. If they publish one, anyone with the link can see the entries the couple has not hidden, and they can add a password on top.

Our staff do not browse guest books. Access to the underlying storage is limited to what is needed to keep the service running and to respond if someone asks us for help.

Where it is kept

Entries are kept on a server we run ourselves, in a database and in files on that same machine. We do not hand your content to a third-party hosting or storage provider, and nothing in a guest book is used to train anything.

Encrypted backups are copied nightly to off-site object storage so a failed disk cannot lose a wedding. The provider holding those backups cannot read them.

A copy of each entry also stays on the tablet that captured it until it has uploaded, which is deliberate — venue wifi fails, and that local copy is what stops a night of messages disappearing. The couple can clear it once everything has synced.

How long we keep it

Entries stay until the couple deletes them or closes their account — the whole point is a keepsake that outlasts the wedding. Deleted entries sit in a recoverable trash until the couple empties it, then they are gone for good, including the underlying files.

Pairing codes and the IP addresses recorded alongside them are deleted after 24 hours.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Couples can do most of this themselves: every entry can be edited or deleted, and the whole book can be exported as a ZIP or a PDF at any time.

If you are in the UK or EU, the couple is the data controller for their guest book and we are the processor acting for them. That is why we will normally point a guest at the couple first — but we will step in if that is not possible.

Children

AisleBloom is for adults setting up an event. Children may of course leave an entry at a family wedding; if a parent or guardian wants that entry removed, ask the couple or write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change how any of this works we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant we will email account holders rather than quietly editing it.
